Off-Broadway Sensation For a Limited Engagement
CHICAGO, IL – The ultimate Girls night out comes to Chicago when Louise Roche’s “Girls Night: The Musical” arrives for a limited summer engagement June 22 – August 26, 2012. The show that will have “audiences on their feet, clapping, singing and dancing in the aisles” (Philadelphia Inquirer), transforms the new Primary Nightclub (5 W. Division St) into an infectious karaoke bar where five friends reunite to sing about the trials and tribulations of friendship, relationships, motherhood and more. Tickets ($45-$65) and Group tickets ($35 - $55) are on sale now and are available at girlsnightthemusical.com or by calling 877-386-6968.
“Girls Night: The Musical” is the hilarious, touching tale that follows five friends—Carol (Missy Aguilar), the party girl; Anita (Andrea DeCamp) who tells it like it is, Liza (Marken Greenwood) stuck in marital and emotional downfall; Kate (Jennifer Oakley), the prissy designated driver and Sharon (Shelby Garrett) the “not-so-nice” nice girl—during a wild and outrageous girls night out at a karaoke bar. Together, they reminisce about their younger days, celebrate their current lives and look to the future, all the while belting out an array of classic anthems such as “I Will Survive,” “Lady Marmalade,” “It’s Raining Men,” “Man I Feel Like a Woman,” “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” and many more.
“Girls Night: The Musical” has earned rave reviews playing packed houses throughout the United Kingdom since 2003. It premiered in the United States five years ago in May 2007 and has attracted audiences touring across the country including a 16- month run Off-Broadway from June 2009 until October 2010. Chicago audiences will enjoy the show at premiere nightclub Primary in the heart of Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood. Boasting a state of the art design accompanied by a 30x30 dance floor, a boutique Void sound system and a 12’x30’ LED wall, the venue creates the perfect mix of club and karaoke for “Girls Night.” A mixology bar will offer signature cocktails including the “Blonde Bombshell,” “Teacher’s Pet,” “Fuzzy Screw,” and other premiere beverages!
