Tough As Nails

Tough As Nails

My god, there are a LOT of holiday shows coming up. I've already counted FIVE Christmas Carol's and THREE "Live Radio" versions of It's A Wonderful Life.

At least there are little gems like Hannukatz the Musical to break up the Christmas-monotony. More on that later, but for now, suffice it to say, Hannukatz is about a cat who has to save Hanukkah. Obviously.

For those of you already burned out on yuletide cheer (I lasted about six days...I blame the beautiful, gaping hole Melancholia left in my soul), why not enjoy something which exudes non-seasonal charm?

Ann, written by and starring Emmy Award-winner Holland Taylor (Two and a Half Men, The Practice), opened last night at the Bank of America Theatre, and people are loving it.

If you're like me and know nothing about the iconic female governor of Texas, Ann Richards (whom the hilarious new play examines), don't let that deter you!

Check out this video preview. Holland will also be on The Rosie Show tomorrow night, in case that little sneak wasn't enough for ya. Plus, Ann is a pre-Broadway premiere. You can brag to your East Coast friends that you saw it in Chicago first!

Ann is playing through December 4 at the Bank of America Theatre.
