Eat Whole Foods

If you are looking to lose weight, get leaner, feel better, have more energy, prevent disease....who doesn't want at least one of these things....then you should eat more whole foods.  Whole foods are foods in it's whole form, for example, nuts, seeds, grains.  Whole foods have more absorbable nutrients than processed and these nutrients can be used by the body instead of stored as calories.  Which means you may not be getting as many calories as you think from almonds or eat up!  Well, don't overeat but add good fats and whole foods to your daily food intake.  Whole foods are more satiating due to fiber and nutrients preventing you from always being hungry.  Your metabolism will be working which means calorie burning.  Here are some suggestions:

  • All nuts and seeds
  • Steel cut oats
  • Quinoa, Amaranth, Wheat berries, Spelt, Kamut
  • Tofu, edamame
  • Beans and legumes
  • All fresh veggies
  • All fresh fruits
  • Eggs
  • Lean meats
  • Fish
  • Potatoes
  • Avocado

  • Right on! I tracked my diet for a week, eating whole foods and it was amazing. I put the results on my blog. I think people were shocked. I ate 65 grams of good fat a day and around 50 grams of fiber (and I've lost weight eating this way).
