Pros and Cons of a Cleanse or Detox

There are many types of cleanses to choose from so if you are interested in trying one, you should ask yourself some questions.  Some cleanses are focused around just drinks and no food for a certain amount of time while others include healthy meals.  Usually the goal of a detox or cleanse is to lose weight or start healthy lifestyle, but remember that it's temporary.  They are only beneficial if you continue to follow a healthy diet.  When considering a cleanse, check the ingredients and make sure that it's safe and natural.  If you are not used to having these ingredients, consider choosing a plan that includes healthy meals.  This will help with the transition of eating healthy after the cleanse is over.  Some cleanses can be pricey so consider doing your own detox drinks.  Start with this green smoothie:
