Good Chanukah Music

Good Chanukah Music

I was momentarily excited when  I heard Sirius-XM radio had once again added Chanukah Radio to their lineup. Then I tuned in. To say it wasn't very good would be an understatement.

A common complaint among our people is that there is so little good Chanukah music, so it's understandable XM might struggle to program their station. I heard a joke last weekend positing a reason for the dearth of fun-to-listen-to Chanukah tunes - it's because the Jews were busy writing Christmas songs.

Halfway through the Festival of Lights, I decided to put together a playlist of good Chanukah music. While "good" is admittedly a personal thing, the gons shown below can hold their own against most any Christmas music to which you might want to compare them. There are eight songs, one for each night.

Lest you think this is the extent of good Chanukah tunes, here's a link to a Spotify playlist which includes more and will be updated as I find more. Switch your satellite radio back to 60's on 6 and put the Chanukah playlist on repeat. You won't regret it.

Take a moment to comment if I missed your favorite so I can consider adding it to the playlist. And click here to subscribe for email updates anytime something new is posted here. The mailing list is completely spam-free and you can opt out at any time.

Chag Sameach!
