"If you could see me now, I'm stuck on this ship..." I can imagine Kathie Lee Gifford singing it now.
I've never thought of myself as a "cruise" person. The idea of being on a boat for days at a time with nothing but open sea to look at does not interest me. Nor does eating food I could find at a nice hotel buffet in the Loop. Or seeing a show I could find at an Indiana casino. When I'm travelling, I want to see the different in the world- different cultures, people, food, scenery, etc. And this latest news of a Carnival Cruise ship being stranded in the Gulf of Mexico after an engine fire isn't going to get me on a ship anytime soon.
With tales of no food, sleeping on the top deck, unbearable heat below deck, and backed up sewage systems, I hope those passengers get home soon. And if I ever want to go to the bathroom in a primitive toilet, I'll go back to the beautiful Buddhist temples in South Korea.
