The Oscars Awards were wonderful. Ellen DeGeneres was a great touch. Her being in the audience with the "stars" was just right. Ordering the pizza was the right thing to do.
The top of the evening for me was the win of the new star, Lupita Nyong'o. She is a brilliant actress. Her scene in 12 Years a Slave has made me not ever to want to see another slave movie. It was just too too much. The beating was brutal and it was for wanting to be clean. Too much. She is beautiful, elegant, charming and graceful. She is the new "IT" girl. It was delightful for her to dance with Pharrell Williams as he sung HAPPY. The movie roles will come and the fashion magazines will knock on her door to grace covers and do spreads. She transcends color with her beautiful black skin and British accent. She is a new role model for young women. She is comfortable in her own skin. She is real and has a regal bearing. She is akin to Audrey Hepburn in her style of simplicity. A star is born. Can't wait for the new movie.
12 Years A Slave, was a magnificent win. It was a tough piece of history, that was horrible. It was a tough tale to tell. It was reality based on a forgotten book. A whole new generation of movie producers, screenwriters, actors and directors have come forth. Bravo to them all for doing Spike Lee's movie.
Matthew McConaughey kept it all the way real. I loved his mother and his wife at his side. I love his perspective of spirituality, family and job. He has it together not as a star but as a person. Love it. The modern man he is, not afraid of his emotion.
A highlight of the evening was Angelina Jolie and Sidney Poitier .Royalty he is. He raised the bar and is viewing the fruit of his labor. Debonair was he, beautiful was she.
This year's Oscar Awards in a word, marvelous, just marvelous. Everyone was authentic in their glamor and celeb. Bravo.
