Ramsey Lewis on Abraham Lincoln

Ramsey Lewis has composed and performed a brilliant symphonic tribute to President Abraham Lincoln musical called Proclamation  of Hope.  Ramsey_Lewis.jpg

Last evening I had the pleasure of previewing the latest music of Ramsey Lewis.

Lewis the brilliant pianist first played the symphony at Ravinia in the summer of 2009.  This past November it played with a 22 pice l orchestra at the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington.  The Orchestra was conducted with arrangements by Scott Hall.
The eight movement  tribute to the greatest president  features jazz, gospel and blues.  It is a profound musical and places Lewis in a new musical category.
The Proclamation of Hope will be shown for the world to view on Thursday, April 14 at 9:00 p.m.
Another reason to support the excellent programing of Public Television.
