Chicago's Newest Theater - ICON

avatardigital3dposternew1.jpgChicago has a new beautiful theater, ICON in the South Loop.  The 16 screens opened over the holiday at 150 W. Roosevelt Road in the Roosevelt Collection Development.  The theatres are unique and a model for restoring the movie show.  This  luxury movie house provides just enough special qualities  that it makes you want to go to the movies and leave the DVD at home for later.  This is a place for adults.

There are two levels, the regular movie house and the lux theater.  The upstairs has extra large seating.  You can order a martini and bring in your food while you watch the movie.  You can sit in the lounge and chit chat.  You can relax.  You can choose your seat upstaisr and downstairs and in theater style the usher  seats you.  You can order popcorn or maybe you prefer berry yogurt.

The Lobby Lounge has a snack gourmet menu.  You can order Italian cheese dishes, chicken breat, bacon popcorn and portobello and proscuitto and strawberry cheese cake.  Pricing is moderate.  Jerry Kleiner, the proprietor of some of the city's most popular resturants, like Carnival and Marche is involved in this new creation and it is obvious.  His art trademark is on the walls with original works and photography featuring the Hollywood  stars of yesterday.

The price of admission is $10 before noon and $12.50 in the evening. An added attraction, that I hope does not change, is free parking.   You can order your tickets online.   The theater is for the sophisticated theater goer.  There is a certain romance here, that is inviting.

And when the Obamas visit Chicago, this I betcha ya will be their theater of choice.

Icon has a nice touch and is most enjoyable.
