Top five tips to stay motivated with your exercise program:

In the meantime, stick to your workouts and stay motivated.  Here are five tips to keep you motivated with your weight loss goals.

1. Because your workouts work - The longer you stick to your workout program, the more you will see results.  It's the simplest reason but sometimes overlooked.  Remember if you keep doing nothing you will go nowhere.

2. 2 Week Rule - The reason to sticking to a consistent exercise program is that in two weeks of conscious effort you will feel stronger.  You may not SEE the difference on your scale or in your clothes, but your muscles will start to be engaged the tone or energy moving through them will feel different.

3. Paper works - Writing down your goals and workouts on paper gives you concrete reference to your efforts.  Journaling has been proven to be more effective in helping people stick to their weight loss goals than other forms of tracking.  Write down your feelings after workouts with a simple smiley face or :0 other expressions that you felt during that time.

4. Stomp ANTS - "Ant" is  A Negative Thought - If you continue to think negative consequences, you will achieve them.  Use positive affirmations about your body, your workouts and your self image.  Try to breathe in positive words and exhale fear, guilt or self sabotage.  This helps change the way your brain works chemically and rewire your thoughts for success.

5. To Be Real - Give yourself realistic goals of 1-2 pounds of weight loss per week.  Unless you are putting out your "A" game of consistent meeting all weight loss assignments, you can't expect an "A" change in your waistline or weight. If you made a list of all the necessary things you need to do to lose weight including calories count, fiber, protein intake, exercise, sleep and hydration and score in the "C" range than the "C" average weight loss of 1-2 pounds per week should apply.  To increase those numbers give yourself better adherence to the assignment list and you'll get "A" results.

    I agree money is a great motivator for weight loss but it shouldn't be the only motivator. One's general health and well being should be a Bigger motivator.
