Tilapia is a great fish to add to your diet. The American Heart Association recommends adding fish to your diet at least twice a week. Tilapia is low in mercury and abundant in Omega 6 & 3. One 4 ounce serving only has 145 calories yet yields almost 30 grams of protein. I like the fact that it doesn’t have a $15/pound price tag like other fish that are healthy for you.
Tilapia is great fish for diet and health. Here is a 10 minute meal that cooks in one pan.
4- 3oz tilapia filets
1 small jar of salsa
1 can of rinsed black beans
1 cup of fresh corn ( frozen is okay )
1 bag of spinach
Sprinkle of Paprika
Combine the salsa, beans, corn and place in the bottom of a non-stick skillet ( or spray lightly with cooking oil).
Next layer spinach over the salsa and place filets over spinach. Sprinkle with Paprika (salt and pepper optional)
Cover the pan and place on medium heat for 10 minutes. Do not lift lid – let the veggies steam the fish.
