So, if you didn't know, football season is back. And the Chicago Bears return to the fold with a home opener this Sunday, September 11, at Soldier Field against the Atlanta Falcons. You can check it out on FOX at high noon.
Last year there were a lot of complaints amongst all the enthusiasm about the Bears' prospects, both from fans and from NFL pundits. The more high profile negativity surrounded Jay Cutler and his attitude, and his alleged lack of will to get it done, especially in the NFC Championship game against the Green Bay Packers.
As we all remember, in that title match Cutler got hurt and was pulled mid-game, left moping on the sidelines while third string QB Caleb Haney fought valiantly in his place. The Packers still dominated, and went on to win not only the NFC Championship but also the Super Bowl.
But let's not forget that Cutler got sacked 50-some times last year as he tread behind the Bears' offensive line, known as one of the worst in the league.
Luckily, fans always love their team and memories of the last bad play are short. This pic of mom and baby Cutler in the park brought to mind one thought.
That is, that Cutler could be one of the best QBs in the NFL if he's allowed to perform. Also, if the team fires correctly on all cylinders the Bears should be a strong contender in the post-season. Let's hope the Bears' offensive line and its coordinators can provide more cover and maybe even a bit of parental vigilance in protecting Cutler this season.
