"12 piece, fried hard/It's all for you!": HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

"Something to Behold"--Foreign Exchange

Just like Kanye said, "I guess every superhero need his theme music."  What could be more super than your very own birthday theme song?!

I gotta shout out out my boi, the incomparable DJ Sean Alvarez (I see you Swank Society!), for putting me up on this dope Foreign Exchange song. A couple of years ago I did an event at my house and asked Sean to mix some CDs for my party. Apparently, I really didn't listen to what was being played during the party because when I put this CD on at work yesterday I heard this song for the first time and fell in love with it.

It's got that summertime Chi feel to it...it just makes you smile and feel good. And I absolutely love the chorus, "Bring you some wings on your lunch break/Like, 'Baby how's your day?'/12 piece, fried hard!" Classic! I know that chicken has some mild sauce and a little lemon pepper on it, too, boo!

It's that feeling--like when someone surprises you at work with lunch, or a call in the middle of the day just to say hey. You're not expecting this joy, but when it appears you're glad it showed up right on time. Enjoy the moment. Who knows if the moment is a week, a few months, 20 years, or just that moment.  However long it is, it should feel like this song (which is a fantastic string of 4:16 moments).

Something to behold, indeed.  Happy Birthday :-)
