My Christmas Playlist

My Christmas Playlist
Our tree from two years ago.

Well, I am a bit more in the Christmas spirit than usual this year.  Why?  Maybe because our house is decorated for the season?  Nope, only the exterior so far (maybe this weekend we’ll get our act together).  I think it’s because I can play my delightful Christmas playlist at any time and instantly feel festive!

I have been nurturing my Christmas playlist for the past several years, and thanks to Spotify I can test out new Christmas music each year and carefully hand select only the best songs.  This year I screened several new albums: Kelly Clarkson, Leona Lewis, Mary J. Blige and “The Best Man Holiday” original soundtrack (apparently some movie I’ve never heard of).  The Leona Lewis album was my favorite with the movie soundtrack a close second.  I was crushed not to love the Mary J. Blige album as I had expected, but I shook it off and moved on.

Here is my playlist.  Only at this time of year can a person listen to George Michael Wham!, Mariah Carey and Michael Bublé without (much) shame.  There are so many versions of some of these songs that it comes down to a matter of personal preference, but some of the more unique songs are fun, too.  When in doubt, it’s hard to go wrong with the Very Special Christmas albums.

Have I missed any songs that I shouldn’t live without?  Let me know!
