North Coast Music Festival a music lover's paradise

Set against the backdrop of Summer's Last Stand at Union Park-Pat
Grumley,
Michael Raspatello and 6 other local promoters took a leap of faith to
add
this three-day event to a full menu of festivals in Chicago.  Where
this festival stands out is in programming-which leans heavily toward
dance and electronica with a nice splash of rock and hip hop.

With
well known headliners such as the Chemical Brothers, Moby and Nas
featuring Damian Marley along with other notables Lupe Fiasco, Jay Electronica, De La Soul and Grace
Potter-this ambitious project came together in such a way to rival
festivals that have been around for a decade.  My hat's off to the
organizers-North Coast brought it's attendees four stages, the finest
merchandise and food vendors, and a site plan that keeps you fully
engaged
and easy to navigate.

This festival is sure to grow bigger and
better each year and may soon grow to compete with the festival monster
known as Lollapalooza across the way in Grant Park.  Can't wait to
see what's coming next year.  Be sure to stay tuned for my backstage
interview with dance music great Moby!
