We recently went to the Oak Lawn Children’s Museum. We got free tickets off of our local Facebook “free group” and off we went. The kids are on vacation, and I’m off of work, so I figured this was the perfect time to go.
Normally tickets are $9 for kids and adults (under 1 is free.)
For a children's museum, it’s relatively small, but that’s not a criticism. It’s nice to be able to see your kids at all times. Plus there’s a ton of stuff to do there, so it doesn’t feel small. Except when my son had a blowout smelly-as-hell diaper. Then it felt like I was trapped in a portajohn (but that’s hardly the museum’s fault.)
Theres also a lunch room where you can bring food to stop for a snack. Parents, be aware: there’s no vending machines. Bring something for yourself too. They provide cleaning supplies to help clean off the tables as well, which I really appreciate.
They have water and sand tables on the first floor, and every Melissa & Doug toy ever made for sale in the lobby area.
The kids had a blast, and it’s relatively inexpensive. Totally worth checking out!
