Are you wondering how you would survive a world apocalypse?
Will there be a natural disaster, human attacks or a blackout?
If you are looking to survive the end of the world (if that ever happens) then look no further than Forrest Griffin.
Yes the MMA fighter turned book writer has shown from his past book (Got Fight?: The 50 Zen Principles of Hand-to-Face Combat) that he has a knack for writing. His newest book labeled "Be Ready When the Sh*t Goes Down: A Survival Guide to the Apocalypse" his something that really makes you think.
The world in Forrest's eyes has all come down in an instant and it's up to you to survive. He places detailed notes on how to survive the initial wave of the apocalypse and what to do in the first stages of the aftermath. Throughout the book the material isn't something that would be presented in a way you think is normal.
Griffin comes to you from the book with a different sense of what you should believe and what you should take as a joke. He doesn't really express to you what he is trying to come across as the fiction and non-fiction but with the many stories he really does make you think of what may or may not happen.
Coming out of the first book Griffin changed gears from his first book where he talked about his career and what fighting was all about. This book he talked about what the world would look like and how to come out of it alive and well. With the various stories on how to build a safe house, and how to avoid epidemics Griffin really shows that being a fighter isn't what they think about 24/7.
Reading chapter to chapter the book really seems to make you keep wanting more and waiting for the next punch line or insult from Griffin. With those little tidbits from time to time makes the book much more enjoyable. For example he talks about an escape route and how to make your family hate you in order for you to make it easier and safer without any distractions. He really pushes his ideas throughout the chapters and his passions for them show up in this book.
Comedy and MMA don't usually mix and rarely come out to a head in a book but with this title it refuses to disappoint. Forrest Griffin is one of the unique authors out there because he doesn't care if you read it or not. He loves to express his point of views and surviving the apocalypse is just that.
Forrest Griffin may not be a 5 time bestselling author but I'm sure he doesn't mind that. Instead he wanted to approach his book with a look inside his mind of what he thinks about the world and what could actually happen. Sure some statements maybe a little insane but some make you second guess when and if the world does indeed suffer life changing event. The apocalypse is one thing that Forrest wants to survive but he also wants to survive everyday life and with this book is he lending a helping hand.
