MMA makes its return to downtown Chicago as Bellator invades the Chicago Theatre August 19th. Bjorn Rebney the CEO of the company brings his company to Chicago after previously visiting in April for Season 2. The third season of Bellator kicked off last week in Hollywood California and continues tomorrow with Bellator 25.
With a fight card stacked with former Ultimate Fighters contestants, and ex UFC stars there should be plenty of action throughout the night. Many fans have said they are looking forward to this event as they are intrigued by Bellator's match signing and development of fighters. The third season of Bellator continues its heavyweight tournament as well as the woman's tournamen. The main event of the evening will be between Damian Grabowski and Scott Barrett.
Grabowski is currently undefeated in his MMA career with 5 of his 12 wins coming by way of knockout and the other 7 by the way of submission. He is one of the early favorites in this tournament and he carries the track record to support that statement.
Scott Barrett is looking to continue his successful MMA career and advancing in the tournament against Grabowski. Barrett carries a 10 and 1 record with his only loss coming to a controversial doctor stoppage against Chad Corvin. Barrett carries very powerful punching power as his last 4 fights have all ended with TKO victories.
With Bellator being based in Chicago this is a homecoming of sorts for the organization and they want to put on a great show for the hometown fans. Below is the rest of the card for tomorrow and if you don't have your tickets you can still purchase them at bellator.com.
If you can't attend the event, Comcast Sports Net will be showing the entire card on tape delay at 11 PM. However, if you have the Dish Network it will be broadcasted on regional FSN networks.
