UFC 110 Predictions

UFC 110 Predictions

Tomorrow is UFC 110 and this is my first prediction blog here on Chicagnow.com. UFC is coming live from Sydney, Australia at the Acer Arena. The card is highlighted below and what each fighter did their last match.

Heavyweight Bout

Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic (Last Fight: UFC 103 Loss: TKO Junior De Santos)

Anthony Perosh (Last Fight: Rise 3 Win: TKO Kym Robinson)

Prediction: I will go with Cro Cop for this fight even though it would have been a better fight between him and Rothwell. Rothwell was forced out with an illness and I will go with Cro Cop in 2nd round TKO with strikes.

Light Heavyweight Bout

Keith Jardine (Last Fight: UFC 102 Loss: KO Thiago Silva)

Ryan Bader (Last Fight: UFC 104 Win: Unanimous Decision Eric Shafer)

Prediction: I will go with Ryan Brader in with another Unanimous Decision. I can see this fight being a highlight of the night with Brader's wrestling style being strong and Jardine's kickboxing style flourish.

Lightweight Bout

Joe Stevenson (Last Fight: UFC  104 Win: Submission Spencer Fisher)

George Sotiropoulos (Last Fight: UFC 106 Win: Submission Jason Dent)

Prediction: George was begging to be put on this card and he got his wish. Joe had a very impressive win at 104 and I think Joe continues with a 2nd round with submission win.

Middleweight Bout

Wanderlei Silva (Last Fight: UFC 99 Loss:  Unanimous Decision Rich Franklin)

Michael Bisping (Last Fight: UFC 105 Win: TKO Denis Kang)

Prediction: I really like Silva in this match even though he lost his last fight. This match could be another fight of the night stealer. I see Silva ending it 1st round KO.

Heavyweight Bout

Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira (Last Fight: UFC 102 Win: Unanimous Decision Randy Corture)

Cain Velasquez (Last Fight: UFC 104 Win: TKO Ben Rockwell)

Prediction: Obviously the Main Event for a reason and this is a tough one to predict. For some reason I like Big Nog in this fight just because he looks like has what it takes to avoid the quick hands of Cain and could put him into a variety of chokes.

UFC 110 has a solid card and it has many fights to be interested in. The Main Event should steal the spotlight but you just never know what is going to happen in the Octagon. Check my blog back on Monday to see results and how my predictions panned out.
