by Dawgelene "Dr Dawj" Sangster- Well, I am finally on the bandwagon to get more information about the new "Get Covered Illinois" insurance options. As someone who pays for insurance per month that I never use because I never really get sick beyond a common cold (knock on virtual wood), I am all for finding out about better and cheaper options for me at this point in my life. As a recent widow (19 months) and empty nest chick, it is just me who needs coverage and I am on a budget with my solo income, so I need to ensure I am spending my hard earned money wisely.

I am looking forward to finding out what my options are at an upcoming "Get Covered Illinois" event in Chicago with other inspiring social media moms, of whom many are a part of the awesome Chicagoland Mom Squad (Tenille Jackson). It should be a fun event with enrollment on-site, skilled navigators to help answer questions, nutritional snacks/smoothies and lots of networking!

Event:   Get Covered Illinois Mom-E Morning Mixer
Where: Montgomery Club
500 West Superior
Chicago, IL 60654
Time :   11:00am- 12:30pmCST

RSVP to: Stephanie@compasspublicaffairs.com or call 312-300-2290

This event is FREE and parking is also FREE so you have no excuse to miss it, unless you are working. If that is the case, stop by here and check for other events happening all month long.

Enrollment closes March 31, 2014 so time is running out to register.

  • Your options are higher premiums and higher deductible and limited doctor choice and possibly a subsidized premium at taxpayer expense. Actually, your option will probably be Medicaid.

Don't say I don't know: I checked. I was one of the non-existent people, who are lying about the health coverage I lost, which became "illegal" under ObamaCare.

  • In reply to Richard Davis:

    Hi Richard,

Thanks for your response. I surely don't want premiums higher than what I am paying now, and I am not even eligible for medicaid. I am at a point where I need to explore what else is available, that is not so darn expensive.

    Thanks again.

It is really great to attend to seminars like these to make sure that we understand how to make do with our insurance. Of course, despite we are having insurance we should take care of ourselves as much as possible.
