Milk dud of the week: attempted robbery

In this week's episode of Milk Dud of the Week we learn that people will do just about anything to get a drink. Of alcohol, that is.

WOW. Would you have helped us?

*Author's note: Clearly...it was my coworker and not I, that truly saved the day. Next time friends...next time.

Tell me what you would have done at Milkin' it

  • Ha, no way! Sorry to see that guy stand there while you two took on the other guy, but it looks like you can hold your own :)

I would have definitely jumped in, ipod and all, we would have put a hurt on to a soundtrack.

  • In reply to Clint:

    Thanks, Clint!

  • No offense, it must have been kind of a scary situation, but all I see is this other girl doing all the work. She's getting up in his face (figuratively, mostly) keeping him back. You just kind back up against the door. You do keep him away, nice job on that. Then I see you even walk away hiding behind her when he leaves. I'm sure it's not your fault (I blame the crappy camera angles).

I think the other girl's the total hero here. Yeah, I'd help out... and boo to the guy who just watched, I agree, not cool on that. Kinda like the time a woman was getting stabbed to death and people who were watching never called for help until after the fact (hence, good Samaritan laws), glad it wasn't that serious here.

  • In reply to SomeRandomPerson:

Hey! Yes..My coworker most definitely was the hero of the day..I just didn't want him to end up pushing her away and just running out...so i was just trying to make sure the door was closed and that no one was coming into the store. I know..lame lame..but she definitely had control of the situation. she is one tough cookie!
Yes, thank goodness here..it was NOT that serious.

  • Jenny -

On October 22nd, 2006 we lost one of the the great ones. Nelson de la Rosa from Dominican Republic inspired many people during his 38 years on this planet. He taught us that no obstacle is too great to overcome, and that you really can change the world through dance. Right now, on this blog, I honor him.

    R.I.P Mahow

  • In reply to Hymietown:

    Thanks for the info, Floyd.

  • Um, it's a bottle of vodka. Not worth risking your life over. Verbally trying to stop the guy, sure. But actually making contact with him...not smart.

Having said that, I would have stepped up to help.

  • In reply to darkangel:

yes, may not have been smart--but when something is in your family or you've been around something so long, I think most people's instinct are to protect it. my coworker has been working there a long time..and even though that is not her family's store..that is her livelihood and she was protecting it. definitely a wonderful girl.
as for me..that is my family's store..that they have worked so so hard at...and every penny counts..I am not allowing some man to just walk off with something that they should be paying for..even if all i did was hold the door..i still did not let him leave and steal from me.

  • In reply to darkangel:

Wow, that blonde is amazing! That tiny package has some serious courage and she's pretty to boot. I think she deserves a raise and her own blog. Or at least maybe you could do a video segment with her where you guys fight and then kiss, or just kiss.

Long live the all-knowing Mahow. If he was security in the store, he would have opened a big can of whoop ass.

  • In reply to darkangel:

    Hi Jenny,

I had to see this after talking with you at EPIC Tuesday. WOW, you weren't kidding. Unbelievable. You guys are both lucky this idiot wasn't dangerous. Certainly no help from anyone else here. I mean c'mon, at the very very least this guy standing watching could not even use his cell phone, of the store phone, to call the police. Or even threaten to do so if the thief doesn't give back the Vodka. Dang!!!

Anyway, great post and video. 1 million votes from me for sure.

Great meeting and conversing with you, and meeting your husband, last night. Will see you at the next one.

    Best

    Kirk
