In the Name of the Compassionate and Infinitely Merciful Precious Beloved
It was only a matter of time. The brutal shooting of a Pakistani schoolgirl, Malala Yousafzai, in reprisal for speaking out against the atrocities of the Taliban has shocked the conscience of the world. Outrage against the Taliban is widespread in Pakistan, and there are growing calls for the military to fight back against the terrorists.
Yet, it does not surprise me. The brutality of the Taliban - and all of their ilk - knows no bounds. These people have no regard for the lives of the innocent. These people do not care whether they shoot a 14 year old girl in the head. To them, it was justified because they are barbarians. So, as much as people are shocked at the shooting of this girl - and it is quite shocking - it is not really surprising.
It was only a matter of time for the Taliban to do something like this. These people are the enemies of not only Muslims, but of all decent people in the world. The Taliban do not represent Islam in any sense. The Taliban represent, in the fullest terms, the total absence of Islam. And they will continue to do horrific things in the name of their "religion" and ideology.
My heart and prayers go out to the family of Malala. As a parent who has lost a child, I know all too well the horrific pain of seeing your child suffer and be brought to the very brink of death. I pray that the Lord grace her with a full and speedy recovery, so that she can be a symbol of peace and love in our world. I pray that she will walk the earth once more and show everyone that peace and love always prevails over evil and hate.
