What is really behind the constant bashing of President Obama

Day after day, as this election draws closer to a conclusion -  the attacks on the President are increasing to the point of epidemic proportions. I think Bill Clinton said it best in his speech at the DNC last week that he has never seen a President "hated" so much as Obama. I personally am getting sick and tired of listening to people's derogatory comments about the President.

I can't help but wonder why this is?

Every where I turn now someone is saying something that is just plain evil or could it be something else?

Social media, television, newspapers, radios, and bloggers are all jumping in on the hatred band wagon.

I did not like George Bush Jr. during his terms in office but I didn't "hate" him as the President.

After all he was the President - and like him or not you have to respect that.

Hmm! there's a word "respect".

Funny thing is a lot of people call themselves Christians. Oh I think they may have forgotten a few things and I am certainly not the one to remind them.

I think we all have a general idea of where this is going and I don't think that I really need to say anymore about this. In one of my previous posts- I wrote what was one of my favorite quotes of all time. So here it is again. I think we all need a reminder every now and then:

NO ONE IS BORN HATING ANOTHER PERSON BECAUSE OF THE COLOUR OF HIS SKIN – OR HIS BACKGROUND – OR HIS RELIGION. PEOPLE MUST LEARN TO HATE, AND IF THEY CAN LEARN TO HATE, THEY CAN BE TAUGHT TO LOVE. FOR LOVE, COMES MORE NATURALLY TO THE HUMAN HEART THAN ITS OPPOSITE.

  • There's a song in the show "South Pacific." which begins with the line "You've got to be taught to hate someone..." I think you've hit it on the head. We need to start teaching "accept." each one.
