ABC News and CNN have confirmed that Elizabeth Taylor died this morning of congestive heart failure. She was 79.

Taylor entered Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles two months ago for treatment of symptoms of congestive heart failure.

A true representative of the LGBT community; when doing so was not popular. Because of her friend Rock Hudson's AIDS diagnosis, Taylor rang the bell for HIV/AIDS support long before others.

She created The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation in 1991 to raise funds and awareness to fight the spread of HIV/AIDS, and to provide assistance for those living with the virus.  With its focus on direct care and prevention education, ETAF provides funding to AIDS organizations throughout the world, providing support services to populations in need.

Our world is better because of her!

  • Elizabeth Taylor was as well known for her AIDS advocacy as she was for her acting. She was the first celebrity to speak out on the mysterious and socially divisive disease in the 1980s, calling for research, compassionate care and an end to discrimination against people with HIV and AIDS. Many people with STDs on STDsingle. com are talking about this. God will be with her. She will live in our heart forever.
