Last night, the much maligned Miley Cyrus got her first chance at public redemption when she hosted SNL. Her opening monologue was short, but funny, and generally played to good reviews. In it she poked fun at her performance at the VMAs, announced that Hannah Montana had been murdered, and apologized to the makers of the bottom half of shirts.

However it was her skit about the government shut down which really made waves today. The brilliant "We Did Stop" is a parody of Miley's most controversial music video called " We Can't Stop." In the skit Miley plays a sexed up Michele Bachmann at a fantasized GOP "House Party." Among the best moments was a spoon full of alphabet soup that read, "No Twerk."
Months before Miley's VMA performance helped her supplant Amanda Bynes as "America's Baddest Betch," her "We Can't Stop" video foreshadowed the death of the universally loved Hannah Montana. Watch the "We Can't Stop" video first (if you haven't seen it) to watch how well it is parodied in her SNL skit.
