(The following is inspired by the recent work of my fellow Chicago Now blogger, Aquinas Wired, whose Chicago Now blog The Quark in the Road recently featured a quiz on Christmas carols. He kindly mentioned getting the idea from my recent post on Christmas carols with Words Worth Defending.)
There isn't much (yet) which can make me feel decades younger, but in recent days I've found something. I've made myself wait for the results of Aquinas Wired's clever quiz on the later verses of Christmas carols, "Testing your Xmas carol I.Q." (My computer doesn't seem to be linking today, but that's the headline.)
I love carols, and between musical practice and my love of words, I'm happy to know many verses of most carols. But I am still wondering about some answers -- and waiting to read the answers.
That's what's brought back the memories. I've had to wait all through Christmas vacation and past New Year's Day to find out how I did on the quiz. It's exciting and enticing all at once (this being a subject I think I did well in). I actually used to spend vacation time wondering about grades... not all of every vacation, but some.
But please, Mr. A.W., where are the answers?! (Yes, I was a bratty kid about that, even as a daughter of two teachers.)
