Joy’s Noodles& Rice
3257 North Broadway Street
Chicago, IL 60657-3533
(773) 327-8330
Getting Thai is always a great go-to for a dinner date. Whether it’s a first date or you’re celebrating your 4th Valentine’s Day dinner together, you can never go wrong with delectable soups, spring rolls, and curry dishes. The food is reasonably priced and, better yet, it’s BYOB.
ChicagoDatingScene.net ranks Joy’s as one of Chicago’s best BYOB restaurants to take a date. Bring your own classy bottle of wine from the cellar, get crazy with a liter-sized, or even slap a bag Franz.
Café Ba-Ba-Reeba
2024 Halsted Street
Chicago, IL 60614
(773) 935-5000
This Spanish tapas restaurant is a popular date spot off of North Halsted Street. Spanish tapas is perfect for a date. You order a ton of small appetizers, so you get taste a wide variety. Share the small plates, and don’t be afraid to feed each other.
Establishing that level of comfort will positively translate to the atmosphere for the rest of the night. If you’re a bit shy when it comes to that stuff, ease your nerves with some of their famous sangrias. A ton of my friends love taking girls on dates here; it has been mentioned in TCW magazine as one of Chicago’s Best Date Spots.
Tango Sur
3763 North Southport Avenue
Chicago, Illinois 60613
(773) 477-5466
Just about every article I’ve read has suggested Tango Sur as one of Chicago’s best date spots. This Argentinian steak house is known for its uber-romantic atmosphere, beautiful clientele, and mouthwatering cuts of meat.
Tango Sur is also a BYOB restaurant, so be sure to stop at the nearest liquor store and pick up your favorite vino rojo (plus no corkage fee). Wow your lady with a dinner by candle light as the sultry tango music creates a passionate ambiance. Tell her how juicy your steak is…then laugh it off with the patented “That’s what she said.”
Plan beforehand, call ahead seating, or make reservations now because my guess is that these places are going to be hopping with Valentine’s Day date goers.
Be sure to make the experience as fun as possible and not focus on outcomes. Use this Valentine’s Day as an opportunity to develop a new romance, take a relationship to the next level, or re-energize a longstanding one ;)
