I was so humbled and delighted that Lupus Research Alliance filmed an interview of me to inform others about my experience with lupus. A fellow lupie (what people with lupus are called) and Facebook friend brought the interview to my attention. This interview was done about two years ago which I had totally forgotten about.
Lupus is an autoimmune disease where the immune system attacks itself, causing damage or potential damage to internal and external organ systems. Lupus Research Alliance is a great organization because they work hard in the areas of research, but it gives newly diagnosed patients hope. Clinical trials are so important because it gets us one step further to finding a cure or new medications that may save a life.
Time and technology has really changed since I was diagnosed with lupus in 2004. Thankfully, a lupus patient does not have to go through the drama and depression of being misdiagnosed. So without further ado, I hope you enjoy the video and gain a little more insight about lupus, or my experience anyway.
