Chicago Dramatists offers partial scholarship to local writers

Chicago Dramatists, The Center for New Play Development, is currently offering a partial scholarship to local writers. The M.E.H. Lewis Memorial Fund, in memory of resident playwright M.E.H. Lewis, will assist local writers to further their goals in this area.

Chicago Dramatists is located at 1105 W. Chicago Avenue. This fund was created for those unable to afford full payment of classes. It gives the individual a better chance on focusing on their project than worrying about the cost.

There are a wide variety of classes at Chicago Dramatists that are built on the foundation of perfecting your writing skills. Classes such as screen or script writing in addition to play development, are just a few to consider.

There are teachings on various writing topics such as political and social, or, you may just want to learn how to prepare writings for a solo or storytelling performance.

If scheduling is a concern, there are online classes (I'm currently enrolled in one) depending on the course.
