Celebrating my 50th birthday on the Mystic Blue cruise line this past weekend was just what I needed. I've never been on a major cruise line but after my experience on the Mystic Blue, I really don't see the need.
The Mystic Blue is one of the entertainment cruises docked at Chicago's Navy Pier and it operates year round. I decided to book a lunch cruise due to my schedule and had a great time.
My sister came along with me as we enjoyed the tasty buffet and desserts. The staff was very friendly and gracious, especially the host/DJ who kept the excitement going.
Passengers were friendly also; as our table neighbors disclosed their plans for the rest of the day. Birthdays were celebrated as well as anniversaries. The children aboard had fun also as they took advantage of the air hockey and other games on the second deck.
There is a third deck but I didn't have the strength to climb anymore steps but I'm sure it provided a much better view of Chicago's skyline and the Pier, which I'm sure is the purpose of it.
I stumbled upon a private party because I was turned around somehow but when I was pointed out, I remembered where everything was.
Before the cruise ended, the DJ had everyone (except me and a few) on the floor for the Cha-Cha Slide and other line dancing. All in all, a great time was had by all and I totally recommend the Mystic Blue cruise.
