I was so pleased to receive the latest copy of Lupus Now magazine in my mailbox. It is full of testimonials, new drug treatments, and most of all, ways to promote wellness. We all know that you can't avoid all stress but we can control how we deal with the stress that comes along with every day life. Stress is a very dangerous thing for an individual as a whole, as it breaks down your health in a slow fashion.

1. Nothing and no one can "make" you feel anything. We have a choice on how we choose to deal with a situation.

2. Exchange attitude for gratitude. Negative attitudes affect our physical, spiritual, and mental well-being.

3. Relax, relax, relax. Relaxation refreshes the body, mind, and spirit, leaving us better able to handle stressful situations.

4. Look at the big picture. Evaluate your stressful situation from a "big picture" point of view. Ask yourself "How important is this?" and "Will this matter in the long run?"
