With brand new state of the art facilities recruiting fresh talent was a tad bit more inviting for Porter Moser and the rest of the Loyola coaching staff. Utilzing the Gentile Arena and brand new Norville Center as a medium for selling the school, Moser picked up four solid recruits that will make large impacts beginning next season.
Darell Combs is one of the four new recruits Loyola has locked up for the 2012-13 basketball season. Here's a quick look at his stats and background information, followed by an interview he graciously took part in exclusively for Rambler Hoops.
Thornwood High School (South Holland,IL)
Position: Combo Guard
Junior Season STATS: 19 ppg, 4 rpg, 4 apg
Rambler Hoops: What is your biggest strength as a basketball player?
Darell Combs: "Getting to the basket. Knocking down 3's. Really just putting the ball in the basket something I love to do. "
Rambler Hoops: What do you enjoy doing when you're off the court?
Darell Combs: "I love to just chill and work on my game and chill with friends watch movies."
RH: What were some of the other schools recruiting you and which your main choices?
D.C.: "I had Cleveland state, Missouri State, and Eastern Kentucky as well as a few others."
RH: What ultimately drew you to Loyola and confirmed your decision to become a Rambler?
D.C.: "Man what made me come to Loyola was the coaches. I love what they are trying to do with the program and where they are trying to take it. "
RH: What are you looking to work on, during your senior year of High School basketball?
D.C.: "I am looking on becoming a better leader and a better player."
RH: What do you think of the Bulls (or your favorite NBA team) chances this year?
D.C.: "Miami. I got them winning it all. Sorry I love my city, but I love Lebron."
