I have never had much interest in politics or the legal profession even though I did almost apply to law school after college to champion for the oppressed. Maybe that is why I had an interest to learn about Ruth Bader Ginsburg, because she inspires me to find a way to make a real difference in the world. I hope my review of RBG encourages others to see the movie.
Favorite line or message of movie: “The way to win an argument is not to yell, because often that will turn people away more so than bringing them to your table.” ~Ruth Bader Ginsburg
Did the storyline hold my attention? Yes, even though it was a documentary, which I normally don’t watch, there was enough interviews with others and clips of when she was young to keep my attention on her story.
Could I understand what was happening? Yes, I learned so much about women’s rights, in addition to the details of her life. Before this movie, I only knew bits and pieces from the news and from the SNL skits about her life as a lawyer and being a Supreme Court Justice.
Did I care about at least 1 character? She is an amazing woman, but there were others in the movie to care about as well as her, especially her husband who seemed equally compelling.
Did I think about or talk about the movie when it was over? Yes, I watched it with my mother and one of my daughters. My other two daughters want to see it, and I would definitely talk to anyone I could about it.
Would I see this movie a second time? Yes, especially if someone wanted to watch it with me.
