I didn’t think I would really care about Harry and Meghan’s wedding but Saturday morning, I felt myself moved watching the recap of the earlier celebration. Here are the three things that touched me as I watched?
- Seeing the love and joy as they looked at one another. I remember those feelings of love and hope for the future, and that sense of wonder and excitement about what life will bring. What a sweet time in life to be young and in love.
- The words the pastor spoke about love. Some of my favorite words were when he said, “For love, it is strong as death, but love is not only about a young couple. Now the power of love is demonstrated by the fact that we are all here. Two young people fell in love, and we all showed up. But it’s not just for and about a young couple who we rejoice with. It’s more than that.”
- The beauty and magnificence of the Church, choir, guests as well as Harry and Meghan. What a beautiful church and ceremony. Not that I would expect anything less, but it was amazing.
Although my attention didn’t last long enough to watch the entire ceremony, the pieces of their life that I watched truly affected me because I do believe in love, and I do believe in the goodness of life.
