I have been excited to see the movie Black Panther since it came out. I have read that it is getting great reviews in addition to breaking box office records, but I have tried very hard not to read too much, so I don’t ruin the viewing of it for myself. I went this evening and want to review it here. There will be no spoilers in this article.
Favorite line or message of movie: “Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth, more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another, as if we were one single tribe.”
Did the storyline hold my attention? I am an Avenger fan, but there was more to this movie than just the action although that definitely kept my attention. The two hour 14 minutes flew by.
Could I understand what was happening? Obviously, there were times that I wondered what was happening, but that makes a great movie. I could understand the storyline even with some surprises thrown in.
Did I care about at least 1 character? As with most movies, there were a few characters I cared about. I would love to know more about the character Shuri.
Did I think about or talk about the movie when it was over? I can’t stop thinking about this movie and it’s message. I need to find other fans to discuss it, and now that I saw it, I am ready to read all of the articles I can find about it.
Would I see this movie a second time? Yes, absolutely!
Stars 1=bad, 2=good 3=great: 3 STARS
