This Is When I Feel Grateful: Day 20 Countdown
“Fear is the destroyer of dreams,” said Gary Haugen.
“What we believe is what we become,” stated Sam Adeyemi.
“We can’t become what we can’t see,” shared Sheryl Sandberg.
These are just a couple of quotes that I took away from the last two days that I spent listening to amazing leaders at the Global Leadership Summit. The speakers discussed leadership, but also explores life issues in general. This was my third year attending, and I am already registered to attend next year. As I drove home yesterday, I asked myself why did I enjoy these two days? What did I learn or what did I hear that made me excited for next year already?
I have always loved learning; I really believe that learning should not end when school is over. I read books and articles, watch Ted Talks and attend trainings like this, in order to understand others, ponder life’s big issues and keep awareness of myself in the forefront. Afterwards, I look for concrete steps that I can take to implement. I don’t want to just learn something; I want to take action. Today I am grateful for the leadership training because it inspired and encouraged me to be better and to do more.
All through my day, no matter where I go, or what I do, I am always looking for the good. I try to find the good in people, in the world, in my life or even just in my day.
