Do you have a library card?

Do you have and utilize your library card? Do you even know where your local library is? I do, and I love my library. When the kids were young, we would go  just to hang out in the children’s area. I remember as they got older, they would meet their friends to study or to work on group projects there. I even participated in two local author fairs that my library had in recent years. I only sold a couple of books, but it was enjoyable to meet other authors and be part of that community.

I recently walked through every fiction aisle, writing down book names as well as author names that I might want to check out some day. I am typically lazy most days though. I sit at home, pull up the library’s website, and request items that I want. When it is my turn for the item, a person at the library pulls it and puts it on the front shelf with my name on it, emails me that it is ready, and I go in to check it out. Today, I had about seven items waiting for me; walking in my library is when I feel grateful.

All through my day, no matter where I go, or what I do, I am always looking for the good. I try to find the good in people, in the world, in my life or even just in my day.
