Forgotten Chicagoans: Nicholas Eckhardt
On the Rothschild Liquor building at 1532 W. Chicago Avenue in Noble Square reads a decorative epigraph with the name “N. ECKHARDT”. Nicholas “Nick” Eckhardt was born in Germany on September 9, 1832.
