The Rush struck first blood early in the first quarter. Tampa Bay had the opening possession, however Rush Lineback Kelvin Morris took an interception 26 yards for a touchdown to give the Rush a 7-0 lead. But when Tampa got on their second possession, their Quarterback Stephen Wasil ran the ball 11 yards to tie the game at 7. The Rush would get the last laugh before the quarter ended as Quarterback Russ Michna threw a 7 yard touchdown pass to Reggie Gray halfway through the quarter. The Rush had a 14-7 lead after 1.
2nd Quarter: The 2nd quarter was an offensive showdown as both teams scored at will. The Rush scored first when Russ Michna threw a 12 yard TD pass to Receiver Marquis Hamilton to take at 21-7 lead. But then the Storm would score twice on back to back possessions. First Storm QB Stephen Wasil threw a 47 touchdown pass behind the Rush defense. Then on the next possession, he followed it up with a quarterback sneak to tie the game at 21. Then the Rush would strike back when Michna threw a 15 yard pass to Jared Perry in the end zone to take a 28-21 lead.
The Storm would once again score on back to back possessions when Wasil threw 2 touchdown passes of 43 and 30 yards. Tampa would lead 35-28 at that point. But the Rush would not be denied as Russ Michna would find Marquis Hamilton again from 4 yards out to tie the game at 35 with 28 seconds left. Then just before halftime the Storm attempted a 44 yard field goal but it was no good. So now the 2nd half begins, stay tuned.
