Dunk Porn Heaven: Every Slam Dunk Contest Score Since 1984 With Videos Galore

Hoopism just owned the basketball sector of the internet with this one.

Matt and Jon Gordon helped the site compile as much video footage from every slam dunk contest they could and Hoopism charted every score by year. This post is way too great for a Twitter micro-post, so here's the link:

The coolest part of the interface is being able to quickly get to any
dunk with out having to search through hours of video. Admittedly, the
data itself does not change too dramatically year to year, but the dunk
contest sure has. In the early years, the dunk contest was less
polished. Highlights include candid footage of Dr. J's kids coaching him
on his next dunk and a young, un-coached, Michael Jordan with gold
chain and warm-ups casually strutting into his first dunk competition.

Nothing has been sacred in the dunk contest. The format has changed
dramatically over the years in terms of number of participants, dunks,
and requirements. High points include Vinsanity's resurrection of the
contest after two years of no dunk contest at all (1998/99), with a
flurry of never before seen dunks, as well as improved coverage - stop
motion photography, improved commentary (Rick Barry read the same script
every year). Low points include "The dunk wheel", Chris Anderson' s
nine attempts at the same dunk and prop dunks run-a-muck.

It's incredibly user friendly and I encourage anyone with time to get sucked away (SNOWPOCALYPSE!!!) to enjoy themselves with this masterpiece.

I love Kenny Walker's acrobatics shortly after the death of his father
in 1989, Dee Brown covering his eyes in 1991, Cedric Ceballos dunking
blindfolded in 1992, the epic Dominique Wilkins-Michael Jordan battle of
1988, the Terrence Stansbury-Jordan battle of 1987, Spud Webb's mini-me
act of 1986, Vince Carter reviving the contest in 2000, and Nate
Robinson bringin' small back in 2006.

And of course, Chris Andersen's epic fail of 2004. And fail. And fail. And fail. And so on...

Watch them all here.
