Joakim Noah will have his cast removed Monday and be cleared for the next of "two steps" before returning to in-game action, K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune tweeted.
Noah gets cast off today. Cleared for non-contact practice as early as tomorrow. Will travel on 5-game trip.
Noah had surgery to repair his right thumb roughly six weeks ago when it was
estimated he would miss six-to-12 weeks of games for the Bulls. The estimate date for his return seems like
three-to-four more weeks from now, which would likely have him starting for the Bulls
Nov. 24 matchup with the Heat at the United Center -- if not for their
game in Toronto the night before.
Noah was averaging 14.0 PPG,
11.7 RPG, and 2.7 APG in 36.8 MPG, posting a 19.5 PER before going down
-- all career-highs. He was rebounding at an 18.3% rate -- 12.9%
offensive and 23.2% defensive -- while posting what's now a team-high 96
Defensive Rating among everyday players. His FG% is .514 and his FT%
was .725 for a TS% of .570.
