The boycott Spin issue

I am going to take this time to address a blog that has ignited the G.L.B.T community. It has to do with a recent blog from Kate Carolan. Her piece called, women lead mass boycott of spin night club, brought up serious issues. Is there sexism and racism happening at Spin?

I had to find out what was going on because if this was happening, it surely wasn't going to be tolerated. The G.L.B.T community is a community that has dealt with many issues such as hatred, racial slurs and sexual slurs from straight people and bible thumpers. If that isn't enough now they deal with the same issues with individuals of their own kind. It's gay on gay crime. You may laugh at this because you may think gay people are full of drama but this isn't the case here.
If you read Kate's blog you will know that Robert is quoted for allegedly saying some inappropriate things. When I talked to David Gassman, owner of Spin Night Club, he said that the women that accused Robert of these comments are just former disgruntled employees.
Really?  Then why are there more that 361 members of the facebook.com page, boycott spin?
Does that mean all these people are all "former" disgruntled employees expressing their dislike with Robert Hoffman or is it that someone is turning away from the obvious? Furthermore, why would an assistant manager in training, an African American barback, and an avid Spin night club promoter all quit within days of one another if there was nothing said to them?
I don't think this has anything to do with vendetta but more with the fact that a professional manager has conducted himself in an unacceptable manner and has used his power to take people down. I asked Mr. Gassman if Robert would be available to speak on these accusations and David said that he has Advised Robert not to speak to anyone. In fact, Robert has been m.i.a from Spin but still employed.
Good move David.
On the issue that the girls were robbed of what they were suppose to receive, Gassman said that the promoters must have mistaken what he meant. David said that no owner would give the door to any promoter especially not a door at an establishment like Spin. He said they average at least four hundred individuals in a night. I am well aware that on the night that the promoters brought Kid Sister, the count was three times as much as what they averaged. Now here is a piece of advice David, when you write or email and sign a contract, read it. In court, it is not what you said but what you can PROVE!
Back to Robert for a moment.
Did you know that he was allegedly fired from Hydrate, Circuit, Reno 5 and a few other establishments? Does David know this? When I asked David if he ever was in on a night that Robert is on duty his response was the he is usually there during the day. So then, how well do yo know him? David has only known Robert for a year. Take what you want from that.
Also, David, did you know that Robert Hoffman has a boyfriend who is only 20 years old?
Say what you might think but what is a 20 year old doing in a club that is strictly 21 and up taking pictures with Kid Sister?

On the subject that EarthTone Djs were removed from their promised time to another worthless hour:
This one baffles me. Tell me why there is an alleged email that was sent to Dj Brian that asks him to come in and DJ at spin on a night he is suppose to be off? More importantly, did you know that the music DJ Brian plays is nothing like the genre they had that night? David said that the issue was that he did not want some Djs he doesn't know messing around with a ten thousand dollar sound equipment. David, if your mind suits you, these Djs played for you a few months back.
After the conversations that I had with all the parties involved I told them all that I wouldn't post any news until I knew exactly what was going on.
Well now I know, checkmate!

Spin is far from sexist. I traveled from indiana for a weekend of fun. My husband and I went into Spin for a night of chicago hi-life. We arrived on an evening of a private party. And We was invited into the VIP only party. There was a mixed crowd of people. so NO... i don't get the boycot... pure stupidity
