A new Italian restaurant opened late last year on Marion Street in Oak Park that I highly recommend giving a try. The owner and executive chef, Giovanni Matteo Mancini has another La Notte restaurant located in Berwyn. Due to it's popularity he decided to bring the flavor of Italy to Oak Park.
La Notte is a small, quaint restaurant that seats about sixty people. The owner created an atmosphere that resembles an Italian villa with exposed wood beams and romantic lighting. There is a small bar at the back of the restaurant.
The menu was created by the owner who was born and raised in Italy. He makes family recipes featuring homemade pasta and fresh fish. They also take special requests and can make anything Italian you desire that is not on the menu.
On a recent trip my husband and I had chicken parmigiana and chicken oreganato. They were excellent and the portions were large. The chicken parmigiana came with pasta and a red sauce that was delightful. Friends of ours tried the four cheese risotto, fettuccine bolognese, polenta la Notte, and burrata. It was some of the best food they have experienced. Everything was delicious and fresh.
La Notte has a nice selection of wines and cocktails. They are located at 118 North Marion and are open from 4:00-10:00pm Monday- Thursday and 4:00-10:00pm Friday- Saturday.
