Chicago Humanities Festival: Gary Shteyngart and Karen Russell Coming to Town

Want something else to think about besides the crapola weather we're in the midst of? Go get yourself a little culture this winter.

The Chicago Humanities Festival, which offers amazing programming year-round, is hosting bestselling authors Gary Shteyngart on Wednesday, January 22 and Karen Russell on February 13. We're talking two literary powerhouses in the span of just a couple of weeks.

Shteyngart's memoir, "Little Failure" is frenetic and hilarious. Anyone in their 40s is going to find something to relate to between the pages, and writers especially will feel the angst in Shteyngart's journey to becoming a writer.

Karen Russell, of "Swamplandia!" and "Vampires in the Lemon Grove" fame is equally engaging. And with renewed interest in highlighting female novelists, there's no better time to catch a lecture from this Pulitzer nominee.
