Profitable Bets Over Last Four Breeders' Cups

Profitable Bets Over Last Four Breeders' Cups
During each Breeders’ Cup there are two betting story lines I always monitor even though I never have the bankroll to play them: would betting $2 to win on every horse be profitable, and would betting every combination in each daily double be profitable? Here are the last four years of that data. During those... Read more »

11 Things I Want to see Invented/Made That We Already Have the Technology for

Waiter Call Button at Restaurants

Airplanes have them for flight attendants, so why don't restaurants have them for waiters? If waiters came only when they were called, wouldn't that be more efficient for everybody?

10 Other Times We Kicked England's Ass Since the Revolutionary War
July, 4th celebrates our Independence from England and we all know how we gained that independence- by kicking England’s ass. My Favorite Tweets of 2012

This one killed me and so does that picture of Willy.
Upon realizing I tend to take screen grabs of about 85% of my favorite tweets, I decided to make a list of my favorites from 2012. Happy New Year from all of us at Lists That Actually Matter and Happy Year, even when it’s old.

Talk Derby to Me: T.R. Slyder Interviews All 20 Kentucky Derby Horses
I’d like to thank my shadowy go-between who makes this interview possible every year. The nameless figure, we’ll call him Sleazy D.Z., is an Arlington Park higher-up who makes this interview possible. For legal reasons, I am not at liberty to discuss any further the methodology entailed in any... Read more »

Tom Durkin: My Favorite Announcer in Sports

Tom Durkin: My Favorite Announcer in Sports
Guys love to talk about the best announcers in sports and I’m no exception. In my experience there are two main varieties of the topic. 1) People who are unfamiliar with horse racing fail to come up with a consensus, and 2) People who know who Tom Durkin is and agree he is in the... Read more »
