  • How do you figure the odds? All things being equal, the odds for any would be 11 to 1. What criteria are you using to get the higher odds?

  • In reply to Aquinas wired:

Those are the morning line odds and they would change once the action came in, as in any parimutuel wagering. The morning line odds are not set to be accurate indicators of who will win, rather just to entice betting action. So once people saw Roshon Fagan at 12-1, they'd bet him and his odds would organically drop to whatever his fair-market value is. Being that I couldn't discern a clear favorite, I kept all the odds high so every bettor would feel they're getting good value.

Whose odds specifically would you change?

  • In reply to Aquinas wired:

I get your point and ideally I would've had the odds all collectively lower, but I can't research and make an informed decision about how well an ex-member of the view can dance. I just didn't feel comfortable having my M/L favorite at 5-1 or even 6-1 and thought the field was wide open. Thanks for reading and commenting.

  • The relative distribution of the odds appears to be reasonable. At this point that's all I can say.

  • In reply to Aquinas wired:

I thought over your point of the 1-in-11 chance and decided to make the top three favorites under 11-1, which gives it better balance I think. Thanks again.
