Well, this is the best. Just when Pitchfork couldn't get more underground than the underground, or whatever, Do312 totally comes through and hooks up a veritable variety show just blocks from the music festival, taking place all weekend. Vitaminwater®, in association with Do312, presents vitaminwater uncapped LIVE: a custom-created gathering space for brand fans and friends in the West Loop neighborhood of Chicago, that gives consumers a unique opportunity to experience emerging music, art, fashion, action sports and street culture.
Consumers can participate in a summer solstice stretch with Margo Kellison of Vessel Yoga, shop in the All Saints vintage pop-up shop, view M. Caifano live graffiti art and the future nostalgia photo gallery, and even enjoy performances by Bird Peterson, Kill the Noise, Treasure Fingers, Willy Joy, Hussle Club (dj set), makeshiftprodigy, Nadastrom, Dj lady D and many more. Here's some reasons why you should make it over there:
1. Sometimes the fest-scene can be a little too much, especially when it's hot as balls. It's nice to have this artsy oasis just blocks away, and it's free with RSVP at this link: http://do312.com/vitaminwateruncapped . Even if you're not sure if you'll make it, I'd say sign up...it is free, afterall. That way, when you're sweating (temps in Union Park this weekend are expected to be in the 90's), you can hook up with a free vitaminwater, Wolfgang Puck nibbles, or even a gust of air that didn't already riproar through your dirty crowd-neighbor's armpits before heading straight into your mouth. Yea... and you won't want to find this place....
It's going to be located at:
Museum of Contemporary Art warehouse (only a few blocks from the music festival!)
1747 west hubbard
Chicago, IL, 60686
2. Live graffiti art is wicked cool. I'm pretty sure that's self-explanatory. I wonder if it would be like improv, where you could shout out your suggestions? Let me know, or I'll see you over there to test the waters on appropriateness. Let's make it weird. For everyone.
3. Dj Lady D is the bee's knees! I heard her spin on Cutz on Cuts this week, hosted by Chicago's amazing Dj Moppy every Wednesday , and she killed it. Check her out before it's a trillion dollars and you have to push youngsters out of the way to get a view. I promise you'll dance and smile.
I will see you there for daytime giggles. Please note that Pitchfork's Union Park has a no re-entry policy, so please plan to stop by this Do312 Carnival before or after your shows at the fest;if your friends have tickets and you can't swing it, or you are just looking for something to do this weekend, it's an awesome option and sure to rule. Get up in that uncapped mix, son!
