  • My first groupie!!!!! I don't even care that it is spam.

  • ok, it has since been taken down. But I did have a groupie for a while. A spam groupie. But a groupie.

  • I don't know if Mr. Rose is all that worthy of number one but I would disagree comp with it.

  • Is this supposed to be in order? Or just the top ten, no order? just wondering.

  • In reply to Drew:

I tried my best to rank them, realizing full well it's apples and oranges. I also probably should have put Evan Lysacek.

  • In reply to Drew:

I think the fact that Kane is your one and only Blackhawks selection is a bit of a problem, and seems to point to (at best) topical hockey knowledge.

Read Tab's (Daily Sports Tab) blog to brush of on the full roster, or stick to street fests and dumb phrases.

Plus you forgot Taj Gibson, which is another problem. Seek help from Mr Thonus or Mr Sonti on the Bulls.

  • In reply to MySportsComplex:

You are wrong. Toews is on the list, so that isn't a "fact" that I have one Blackhawk. Since you just proved you don't read things all the way through and retain the information, I will follow your example and recommend where you can seek help- Reading Rainbow and Sesame Street.

  • In reply to TRSlyder:

My beef was with Kane, who was sub-par for much of the season. Your explanation just sounded a little flimsy, and most diehard Hawks fans I heard from were calling Kane the most over rated player in the NHL, hardly "best". Your inclusion of Kane seemed to be the knee-jerk action of putting the most famous as a top player.

Sorry I got lost in your picture gallery and missed the Toews part. Guess I was busy looking for the writing. Your insults prove you have potential someday with something besides re-posting photos.

  • In reply to MySportsComplex:

I'm thinking it's time for a Tony Campana mention - at least pound per pound or shall I say inch by inch he is up there....

  • In reply to MySportsComplex:

taj gibson? are you serious? he'd struggle to be named top 5 on his team.

my only beef is the order, but it is all opinion. hester at 3 is way off. probably shouldn't even be on the list, and certainly not before briggs. you are spot on with rose and toews 1 and 2 respectively. no way starlin should be above paulie or buehrle, too early for that type of hype...maybe in 5-10 years he'll end up being better, but not now. have you seen paulie's numbers lately and last year? did you see '05 playoffs at all? starlin hasn't done anything but hit 2 hr's in his first game. i do appreciate that you didn't forget some of the athletes outside of the typical big 4.

    good list for debate.

What the hell! Who writes an article like this then neglects to put a name next to the persons photo. I have no idea who half them were.

  • In reply to Michael T:

    Fair question, Mr. T.

Originally this post had the names, but our blog switched servers and a few years back and a few things (like the titles of each slide in photo galleries) got lost in the shuffle. It was beyond my control and I had to go back and fill in each title for every slide of every gallery I had blogged in the past few years. I thought I got them all, but I was mistaken as you noted. But I updated it for you, even though only about half of these players are still active.

    Thanks for reading!
