Top 10 Hilariously Awful Fashion Fads (post millennium)

The best part about terrible fashionfads is
that you get to see exactly how stupid you looked two years later when
the South finally picks up the trend.  This last decade has given us
some gems, so lets put on our hater hats and get after it.

  • You're first order of business it to single out the fedora? Yeah, sorry, but the fedora has been en vogue for like 70 odd years and isn't going anywhere soon.

  • In reply to drewkent23:

Not the douchey little unisex type fedora shown here (which was cute on cute girls 10 years ago). Plus the fedora certainly was not en vogue from 1960(John Kennedy didn't wear one, therefore no other man did) to mid 90's when hipster bald swing kids revived it.

  • In reply to drewkent23:

Bangs? What's wrong with bangs? Some of us really do want to hide our big shiny foreheads.

  • In reply to ElCid:

It's not necessarily about hiding anything. A truly good cut works with the way hair naturally falls, not against it. And then there are cowlicks. . .

btw If the shiny forehead is oily, bangs are a poor idea.

  • In reply to ElCid:

Women with bangs and men with lesbian librarian glasses? You are wrong. DEAD wrong. Those are both stupid hot.

  • In reply to ElCid:

You are a sexist. nearly every single comment is " do girls want to sleep with that?" I think fashion is almost as stupid as the people who devote time to covering it are.

  • In reply to skillpolitics:

    Agreed.

  • In reply to ElCid:

Agree, what's wrong with bangs? I grew mine out just to cut them again to hide the fivehead. I was even watching a segment I think it was on Mirror Mirror or another show on 7.2 (The Livewell network)and they were changing one thing about your hair. One of the ladies was given bangs.

The comments to this story are awesome. And yeah, this guy has his head on backwards. When did he graduate highschool? 2008?
Most of the items on here are from the mid-1980s. Secondly, fedoras ARE cool. Granted, not every man is Frank Sinatra, but still, they are very stylish. As for the rest, this is one bloggers op ed piece.

The double collar thing does look dumb, though.

  • In reply to drewkent23:

So I shouldn't wear my Joey McIntyre-esque fedora visor?

  • In reply to drewkent23:

you need to come and see some people of color - they have been wearing hats for some time (except the huge afro phase) and continue to do so

  • In reply to BigMas621:

^^^ This comment is more hilarious than this blog.

  • In reply to BigMas621:

Yeah, BigMas is actually dead on. But people of color are more stylish and clearly are getting a pass in this post. Cause God knows they've had lame-ass trends they've made work somehow :)

  • In reply to BigMas621:

Hey, people all over the world have been wearing "hats" throughout history. I'm a person of color and lot more people who look like me wear stupid looking pagri's than black pimps here wear their purple, red, green, etc. homburgs (not fedoras) with their garish matching suits.

  • In reply to BigMas621:

I would consider New York fashion trends as ones that are copied in the south. I don't think Chicago is leading any treands except for the highest taxes and gasoline prices.

  • In reply to BigMas621:

SO it's still OK to pull up my white gym socks, I take it?

  • In reply to drewkent23:

Jeans were not tucked into high tops, they were rolled tight to sit just above the high top. I think most items on this list need correction.

  • In reply to drewkent23:

    Right on.
