About this blog

I'm an information security and data privacy specialist with a master's degree. I'm a produced and award winning playwright. I'm a wife and mother. I live in Chicago's Edgewater (48th Ward) neighborhood and am a proud Pittsburgh expat. I will write for food. Information on how to contact me is here.

I started this blog when I was 39. Around that age some people make lists of "40 things to do before 40." Those lists almost always involve skydiving and/or getting a tattoo. I don't want to skydive or get a tattoo, and the last thing I need is another to do list. But I do like making lists. I like making lists a lot.

I decided I would do the opposite of those other people. I decided to make a list of "40 things that would be nice but there is really no way they will happen before I'm 40." Then I decided to go one step further and make 40 lists each with 40 items. The lists will be on a wide variety of topics. I'd post one each week for the 40 weeks leading up to my 40th birthday.

I completed my 40 lists. You can see the list of all 40 lists here.

Even though I've outgrown my original blog title of "Listing Toward Forty" I still write here. I write about the arts and technology and Chicago and whatever else comes to mind. I hope you find something that interests you.
